Kodak Black Arrested While Allegedly Carrying Out Good Deeds On New Year’s Day In His Old Neighbourhood
The publication has claimed that Black ‘went to his old neighbourhood of Greenacres to hang out with some friends for the holiday, and to also pay off credit card debt for five families living in the area who’d shelled out for Christmas gifts for their kids and loved ones.’
The 24-year-old rapper, real name Bill Kapri, was arrested on a misdemeanour trespassing charge on Saturday at 1.30am in Pompano Beach, Florida.
His lawyer downplayed the severity of the incident and told TMZ the bust was ‘bogus’ and ‘based on nothing but a cease-or-desist letter from four months ago.’
The charge appears to be only a misdemeanour and Black was freed after paying a $25 (£18) bond.
Black’s arrest comes after his lawyer said in December that he was ‘clean and sober’ after completing a 90-day court-ordered stay at a treatment facility.
The artist had left rehab and was ‘prepping to get back on the road’ to reignite his career again after failing a drug test, a violation of his probation terms from his federal gun case.
In October, Black requested permission to leave his facility in Florida for the final 30 days of his treatment.
Doctors working closely with him believed the change would be good for him, as new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, suggested Kodak’s physician and treatment specialist believed he would benefit from a programme outside of the state.
The documents did not provide details or information on the star’s location for security reasons.
